You approve every milestone
When a stage is completed, you'll receive an email and SMS. Simply reply YES to release that milestone payment, or NO to put it on hold.
No new software required
The whole process works via email. Once you have a Wediate account, either you or your contractor can initiate a project — just email us the details and we handle the rest.
Optional portal for full visibility
Want to see your balance, all transactions, and milestone status at any time? The Wediate portal gives you a live bank-statement view of your funds.
How to get started as a buyer
- 1Start a project with WediateAsk your contractor to CC inbox@wediate.com.au on their next quote and Wediate will set everything up. Already have a Wediate account as a seller? You can use the same account to buy — just email us the project details and the other party's info, even if they don't have an account yet.
- 2Receive the quote with holding account detailsOnce the project is set up, you'll receive a quote with Wediate's BSB and account number, plus a unique reference ID you can verify on the Account Directory.
- 3Transfer funds to the holding accountPay the agreed amounts into the Wediate holding account using the reference on the quote. Wediate confirms receipt to both parties.
- 4Approve each milestone as work is completedWhen each stage is done, you'll receive an email and SMS. Reply YES to release that payment. It's that simple.

Buyer FAQs
How do I protect a deposit from a builder?
Transfer your funds into a Wediate holding account instead of paying the builder directly. Your money is held securely with Commonwealth Bank and only released when you approve each milestone of work.
What if the builder doesn't complete the work?
Your funds remain safely held in the Wediate holding account. If there's a dispute, Wediate places the milestone on hold until both parties reach a resolution. Your money is never released without your explicit approval.
Do I need any special software to use Wediate?
No. The entire process works via email. You'll receive notifications when milestones are ready for approval and can reply YES or NO. You also have optional access to the Wediate portal for a full overview.
How do I verify a Wediate holding account?
Visit the Account Directory on our website and search by reference ID, business name, or account number. A green "Approved" badge confirms the account is verified and safe to transact with.
