How Wediate Rentals works
A simple, three-step booking escrow. No ongoing management, no long-term holding — just protection at the moment it matters.
Tenant deposits to Wediate
The tenant transfers the deposit (plus any prepaid rent) into the Wediate holding account before check-in.
Wediate holds the funds
Funds are secured in a dedicated holding account until the tenant has met with the agent or landlord and inspected the property.
Check-in → keys & funds at the same time
At check-in, the tenant approves release in Wediate. The keys are handed over and funds are released to the landlord in the same step, so neither side is exposed.
Payments held safely until you're ready to move in.
Tenants lock in a direct-to-owner deal without the risk of scams or inaccurate listings. Landlords get confirmation the tenant is committed and has the funds ready. Everyone can relax knowing their booking's protected.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Wediate Rentals cost in Australia?
A fixed AUD $50 fee per transaction, paid by the tenant at the time of deposit. No monthly fees, no percentage cuts.
Who can release the deposit?
Only the tenant, via their logged-in Wediate account. Email, WhatsApp, and verbal confirmations are not valid forms of release approval.
What if the property isn't as described?
Wediate holds your deposit until you approve release on the platform. If the property isn't as agreed when you arrive, simply don't approve — funds remain held with Wediate while the issue is resolved.
What happens if the tenant doesn't show up?
Funds are held for 3 days from the scheduled check-in date. After that, the deposit is released per the agreed refund terms (to the landlord if non-refundable, back to the tenant if refundable).
Does Wediate manage ongoing rent payments?
No. Wediate Rentals is a short-term booking escrow — one deposit in, one release out. Ongoing rent collection is outside the scope of the service.
What currency must the deposit be paid in?
AUD. If the tenant pays in a different currency, any exchange and conversion costs are the tenant's responsibility.
